Coastal Open Tournament

Saturday, Sept. 27th the Tashu Shotowa Tournament team will be traveling to Port Alberni on Vancouver Island to compete in the Coastal Open.  If you are interested in taking part in this event you may discuss it with either Sensei Hunter or Sensei Pruim.  Students will be competing in Kata, Kumite or both

Tai Chi Program

Tashu Shotowa is proud to announce the start of our long awaited Tai Chi program.  This program commences on Wednesday, Oct. 1st  and will run Monday/Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00am.  Our instructor is Paul Tam who is recognized by China as a 6th level master.  Sifu Paul will be teaching the Chen style of Tai Chi which is very adaptable for all ages and body types.  Many seniors have derived great health benefits from Tai Chi training.

October Kobudo Certification Course

The September/October Bo series is proving to be a very popular program.  Don’t wait to register for the next in the series, the Nunchaku.  The first class will begin on November 21st and continue for the next four Fridays.  Cost of the program is $50 and you can register at the front desk.

Western Canadian Martial Arts Championship

The TSKF team will be in action again Saturday, Oct. 18th at BCIT in Burnaby for the Western Canadian Martial Arts Championship.  This event is one of the largest in the region and will feature competitors from across BC, Washington, Oregon and Alberta.  This event is promoted by Sensei Hunter and Terry.  More information and on-line registration is available at www.wcmac.ca

Volunteers

We need your help to make the Western Canadian Martial Arts Championship a success.  We will need a hand with set-up, time keeping, score keeping and tear down.  Volunteers will receive a free tournament t-shirt, lunch and the best seats in the house.  We will have a sign-up sheet at the front counter.  If you are competing or only available for part of the day we can work around your schedule.
